Summary: The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the development of the blood transfusion service in the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War. The purpose of the article is to identify important steps in the formation of the Russian blood service, as well as to analyze the process, successes, difficulties and features of the development of the service during the Great Patriotic War using the example of the Kirov regional Blood transfusion station. The author identifies significant events in the formation of the blood service in the USSR since the mid-20s of the XX century. before the beginning of the war years, the history of the development of the Kirov regional blood transfusion station, its structure, the importance of blood transfusion as a method of medical work in front and rear hospitals are considered, data characterizing the functioning of the COSPC during the war period are given, the analysis of the scale, composition and role of the donor movement in restoring the health of sick and wounded soldiers and officers of the Red Army is carried out. The article concludes that the work of the blood service made a significant contribution to the work of the military medical service, and maximum efficiency was achieved with the help of maximum interaction of all elements of the Soviet health service. The results of the study can be useful in scientific research and educational process in the field of national history, the history of the Great Patriotic War, the history of medicine. |
